It's been almost a decade since we first dropped Choli and the nuclear Mollywood anthems, revitalizing and recontextualizing Bollywood and Indian music. Now onto the next project. We have set our sights on another Indian treasure. The classical Indian dance form of Bharatnatyam is getting some of the MadStarBase treatment, an attack on the sensibilities, a fresh new take on how we consume it, all with a focus on compelling and unique stories told through a new sonic landscape. MadStarBase and Keelaka Dance Company are joining forces to sprinkle some much needed spice on this ancient, niche, complex artform to bring back the excitement and push the boundaries of Bharatnatyam. We are excited to introduce the first show titled Sakhi : Exploring a Friendship Between Sita and Draupadi. Exhibiting in three cities : New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. 30th March : Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre 3rd April : Bangalore International Centre, Bengaluru 5th April : Royal Opera House, Mumbai

MadStarBase in collaboration with India Art Fair presents a show by Method India titled Fresh Produce. For the first time ever, the fair has nominated a ‘Young Patron of the Year’, the rising musical stars MadStarBase, who will introduce the new up-and-coming Mumbai gallery, Method, in a special exhibition titled Fresh Produce during India Art Fair week, showing over 50 young Indian contemporary artists today. An extraordinary example of peer support, the collaboration marks the widening and coming together of cultural universes to build culture and the arts far more collaboratively in an age of hyper connectivity. This is a first-of-its-kind collaboration led by India Art Fair as part of its new Young Collectors’ Programme.
